Singer-songwriter, guitarist, bass guitarist, recording engineer, and producer Bill Kavanagh closed his Chicago-area recording studio and moved with his wife Maria to San Miguel de Allende in central Mexico in October 2019.

A mainstay for decades of the Chicago rock, folk and Americana music scenes, Bill didn’t waste time moving into the SMA music scene, playing at most all of the popular venues as a solo artist, fronting his own band, and backing numerous other musicians and bands on guitar, bass guitar and vocals.

After playing and singing on many albums over the years, Bill’s debut solo album (68 years in the making) was released in June 2022, titled “With A Buncha Help From A Buncha My Friends. His follow-up album, “Paradise Beyond The Razor Wire” contains 15 new original songs, mostly written during the COVID lockdown and features many of SMA’s best musicians and singers, as well as some of Bill’s old Chicago-area bandmates and friends.
